For the duration of EWF, the lobby of the Wheeler Centre will be transformed into The Readers’ Room. Artists, zinesters and comic-makers are invited to contribute their work to the Readers’ Room. This is a space for your self-published zines, illustrations, homemade comic books, mooks, zournals – anything independent, underground and self-made. Zines have always been an integral part of the Emerging Writers’ Festival, and this year they will be shared and read in a dedicated public space throughout the festival.
On the penultimate night of EWF, all zines which have been housed in the Readers’ Room will be available at a Zine Swap Stall at Graphic Contents: A Night of Comics, Zines and Visual Oddities (unless previously retrieved by their creators). Display your art, swap your work with others, and find a new audience for your zines. This will be an opportunity to celebrate the rich diversity and creativity of zine-makers, on a night dedicated to underground art, comics, animation and illustration.
Interested artists should submit their zines to the Emerging Writers’ Festival office by Monday 26 May.
